Accessibility status

This website was designed to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, which the European standard EN 301 549 also refers to. According to our self-assessment, these requirements are largely met. The requirements of the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG), which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 in Austria, were taken into account as well.

What we have implemented

  • The automated test found no violations of the WCAG level A and AA criteria, colour contrast included, on the home page and the legal pages, in German and English, on desktop and on mobile.
  • All controls can be reached with the keyboard, and the keyboard focus is clearly visible. The mobile menu and the product detail window close with the Escape key; the detail window takes the focus when it opens and returns it when it closes.
  • Moving effects switch off as soon as the reduced-motion setting is active in your operating system. In addition, the “Pause motion” button at the end of the home page stops animations, background videos and the rotating headline; your choice is remembered.
  • Images have text alternatives or, where they are purely decorative, are hidden from screen readers. The photos and videos are labelled as AI-generated illustrative images.
  • The language of every page is marked up in the code, so screen readers read German and English correctly.

Known limitations

Some labels sit directly on photos or videos, for example in the opening image and the image scenes on the home page. There, the contrast depends on the part of the image behind the text and can fall below a ratio of 4.5 to 1 over bright areas. Automated testing cannot fully assess these spots; we keep improving them.

If you come across any other barrier, please let us know.

Assessment method

This assessment is based on a self-assessment carried out on 9 October 2026: automated testing with axe-core (rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2, levels A and AA) with the reduced-motion setting enabled, after scrolling through each page completely; in addition, a measurement of the contrast of text on images and a test of operating the site with the keyboard alone, on desktop and on mobile.
